I have an hdd with nothing on it right now and an ssd with BF4 on it in my PC but my friend who helped my build my computer told me to save everything else on the HDD. I think he set it up to automatically save things to the hdd, but when I looked in the storage settings, it showed that it was going to save new programs to the hdd. Specifically, I need an answer because I don't have much space left on my ssd. Can you please explain how to change the storage settings through the control panel? The settings through Windows aren't working. Thank you so much.

Usually, origen (client for bf4) allows to install games to which ever drive you want within its preferences. All my games are on G:\games instead of c drive for example. You don't need to switch windows settings you can do it on a program by program bases.

when installing thing you have to be very careful and choose exactly where you want things to be installed. no program will really autosave things in certain locations for you. you have to pick where you want everything to be saved or installed. this means anything new you bring into your computer you will have to put it where you want it.

Hey there, BobDoorbell!

As the guys already mentioned above, you should be very careful when choosing destination storage for your data. I can suggest you a couple of tutorials from the community that can shed some light on how change the default install paths in Windows.

Windows 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Windows 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2024314/redirect-folders-drives-windows-windows.html

Here's another one about moving the users directory: http://lifehacker.com/5467758/move-the-users-directory-in-windows-7

Good luck! Hope it helps! :)
