Choosing GPU for new PC conmected to 46" Samsung

Hello

I'm building a new PC but need some input towrds the GPU. It is going to be connected to a 46" Samsung LCD 1080P display, max 1920*1080.

I would like it to run current games at ultra settings at that resolution (Crysis, The Witcher 2 ect.) and perhaps also BF3.

I looked at a crossfire Radeon HD 6850, or a single 6970, or a GTX 580. I dont wont to use a ton of extra money if it there isn't a huge difference in performance.

What would suit my situation bedst?

ok gtx580 have monster performance as compare to other if you want to cf 6870 then this isn't makes you happy so the best way is for you is 6970 or gtx 580 but gtx is slightly better.

Either the GTX580 or GTX570 is what will let you play those games on Ultra settings.Although Witcher 2 is just as CPU demanding as it is GPU.You will need a powerful CPU for that game.

I think the GTX570 has probably the best cost to performance ratio.While it doesn't cost $500 like the GTX580 it can compete with the 6970 but for less.The cheapest GTX570 I can find as of now is a MSI reference version that goes for $290 after MIR and their is a Galaxy that goes for $260 after MIR

Of course though with a card like the GTX570 your going to want to spend a little extra to get one with a good aftermarket cooling solution.

For BF3 I'm thinking a GTX580 is the minimum you would need to play at Ultra settings and stay above 60fps.

I wasn't justifying the cost I was just saying in order to play BF3 on Ultra settings and maintain 60fps you would need a GTX580.I agree tho the GTX570 for $320 and $260 after MIR is probably the best bang for your buck on the market right now.

Why not get the 2500K?

Why the Z68 chipset instead of the P? I've heard the Z series chipsets are only useful for HDD's.

I had the impression that the 2500K was more geared towards overcloacking, something I have tried to much.

An in regards to whether it should be P or Z, I had read positiv reviews of the Z model, and didn't really know what the difference was.

Is the P model more suited to my needs?

Well I don't know to much about Intel motherboards but what I read is that the Z chipsets are more geared towards Intel Smart Response which for use with a SSD.I thought their was more of a difference between the chipsets but a quick search revealed this.

p67 does not support on cpu video
h67 does
z68 supports on cpu video, plus intel smart response
z68 is the chipset to get along with an SSD for caching.

So their's not much of a difference between them.So go with either one is cheaper.

As for the 2500k I don't understand what you mean.Your tired of O.C.ing?I say it's worth the money because it's fairly easy to O.C. since it's an unlocked multiplier.And you never know in a year or more you might need more performance and you can just O.C. easily.

Well I decided i5 2500K for the CPU and a GTX 570. More specifically, without knowing to much about the differences between the 570's:

That's a really really good GTX570.The Twin Frozr's have some of the best aftermarket cooling.
