Hi,
I'm currently trying to upgrade my system and was able to buy an RTX 2080 ti for a good price. I am upgrading from a GTX 1080 and will also install a Kraken G12 with a single
140mm Fan AIO on the 2080 ti as it has a blower style cooler that I don't like. Now I am considering to upgrade from my 650W Power supply to 750W
as the 650W already has 5 Years of intensive use behind it. The PSU Calculators all spit out different Numbers between 550W and 650W for base use,
but I also intend to overclock the 2080 ti a little.
My System:
i7 4790 with air cooler
ASUS H97 PRO
GTX 1080 with Kraken G12 and NZXT Kraken X42 AIO (OC to 2GHz while Gaming,+500 MHzMemoryOC)
4x 4GB DDR3 RAM (1600MHz)
2x SATA SSD
2x >1TB 5400 RPM SATA HDD
3x 120mm Case Fan
1x 140mm Fan (for AIO)
A bunch of USB devices (Mouse, Keyboard, Mic, Heaphones, USB Hub, Gamepad [all Ports used up])
As soon as I can get one, I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600X (or maybe wait for Intel but we'll see) with a B550 Motherboard and fast DDR4 RAM.
The question is: Is a 750W Power Supply overkill for that System if I only want to overclock the GPU and later upgrade to a 5600x or could it even be lacking the overhead I need?
Thanks in Advance
