Choosing the right GPU

I am building myself a new PC. I was looking on forums for a "solid" budget build because I am a "sunday" gamer. I have picked some parts around, which are listed below. My two questions: what GPU to consider and would it be smart to swap my PSU for a better one.

I have already searched for an answer on this site, but didn't get a full answer on my problem, so I hope u guys can help me out.

CPU: FX 6350
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P (REV. 2.0)
RAM: 2x8gb 1866mHz DDR3 Hyperx Savage
Cooler: CM Hyper T4
PSU: Corsair CX 600

yes, that psu is not that good, get something like the xfx ts series 550w
and for gpu, what is your budget?

It's not such a budget thing. It's just trying to reduce the cost and get as much performance as possible. I don't want to overkill my project. So a new PSU, that can be done. About GPU, I noticed that a r9 290x windforce is a good card (read on forums). I am not that smart on this field. I would like to play new games on normal frame rates, I don't mind playing it on high and not ultra, so take that in account. Thank you, for your help.

get this as a psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094 seasonic are top tier psu if not the best and for graphic card don't go lower than 750ti 2gb which btw it can play all the actual games really nice(it's a wonder card), i would recommend a r9 380 4gb which is better than a gtx 960. 750 ti draws only 60W and 380 190w, as you can see a 500w psu will run the entire system just fine even with a 380 in it as long as that psu is a good brand. get the 380 4gb, no need to go for a 290x, and a 290x would require an even better psu, the xfx ts or the one that tzn suggested are both great.

If u don't mind me asking. Does the manufacturer matter? Is the same if I take a r9 380 from XFX, MSI, Power Color,...? As I took a fast look, the price difference between 750ti and r9 380 x2. Is it worth? Sorry for asking stupid questions, but I would like to do it right. And if I pick the 380, even with AMD cpu, there would be no problems in Watt usage?

As i said with a good psu( with a seasonic 500w you never have problems) even 380 will run ok with a AMD cpu, 380 has double the power of a 750ti but 750ti it only draws 60w, well if you want the best from 750ti take the super-clocked version from evga on 380 i would choose saphire, depends of how much you want to spend 380 4gb is more future proof than 750 ti, but as for now 750 ti can play all games surprisingly good and it will last at least 2 more years,your choice as for manufacturer differences is that some manufacturers have overclocked the cards from factory and the differences between cards might be a few fps, personally i don't give 2 cents on gpu overclock i like them cold as they could be oh and on 750ti there are models that require extra power connector like gigabyte OC. look https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzvjjdXzyVs 960 is slightly under 380.
