Hello!

I have a Hyper 212 Evo in a HAF XB case. The Hyper cooler is 4-5mm to (damn) high, so I need to cut the top of the copper tubing ends. See picture if you wonder wth I'm talking about:

(Cutting the copper tube/rod ends at the top there).

I have to do this as I'm gonna use a 200mm BitFenix fan in top, and it comes down in the CPU cooler, by 4-5mm.

Will this work? Are these tubes gas filled? Are they hollow at all (I assume they are)?

Will I blow myself up cutting these of with a Dremel? (Rotary cutting disc + metal = sparks possible gas filled tubes.. lol :p )

And if they are just air filled, could I just cut them with a diagonal cutter and make sure they're sealed again at the top?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Solution
Two problems with that: 1. the pipes are filled with a small amount of fluid that evaporates easily, the heat from the dremel could cause the vapors to escape (though I have no idea if the vapors would be toxic). 2. the copper ending is designed to keep the pressure of the vapors from escaping, how would you re-seal it well enough?

I doubt it, if I cut it and stitch it up again, with all the fluid inside, nothing should be different

(Except for a minimal cooling performance decrease because of missing heat dissipation area in the top caps there)

Hm.

Yeah sealing it would be hard.

I'm gonna modify the netting on top (make it higher) instead, thanks for your response! ;)
