I'm no noob, but I can't figure out why DVD playback is so choppy it isn't usable on my D101GGC mobo system. Ran memtest 18 hrs and no issues. Got the drivers from Intel. No unknown devices now. Optimized system using Tuneup Utilities 2013. VLC 2.04 is choppy WMP doesn't have codecs for DVD, system not on Internet. Can anyone offer any suggestions, tools or other resources to pinpoint the problem?

Solution
hi

Maybe your dvd player defective? Are the dvd clean ?

Optimized system using Tuneup Utilities 2013

hopefully you did not install the bloatware that comes with it (conduit and company slow down your computer)

When you watch a dvd, open the task manager and if the cpu usage is at 100%, it's struggling to play dvds.
Try looking at dvd not on fullscreen
