Choppy performance after upgrade

I'm currently using an Intel DG33FB motherboard and replaced my 2 1 gig sticks of ram with 2 PNY DDR2 PC2-6400 2 GB sticks. I've checked the BIOS and my computer and they're both registering that I have 4 gigs installed but I'm getting worse performance than before

I'll admit I'm not the most tech savvy person so where will I find the timings? and the performance is choppy in both gaming and applications. Noticeably in any sort of video it's in a constant start stop motion and jsut a noticeably lower performance in gaming

Another thing to check is by running MemTest86 on each stick individually overnight. I had one stick of DDR3 that would return a lot of errors and when I removed it that solved all my chopiness (and BSOD) problems.

I'd send PNY an e-mail with the model number of your RAM and ask what the timings are. Like Jester suggested, it might be a mismatch in timings. The timings in CPU-Z is CAS 6, but your RAM might be something different. The 6-6-6 is likely set in your BIOS as the default... so if PNY comes back and says it should be 5-5-5 or 7-7-7 or something, then jump into your BIOS and make those changes.

Post back with PNYs reply and we'll help you get the changes made.
