Chriping sound from laptop. Not from speakers but from laptop.

Chirping sound from laptop? How is the heatsink cooler fan seated? I think that might be the problem.

does it make this sound all the time?
does it sound like a chirp from a fan with a failing bearing?

Probably cause:

1. Laptop invaded by a bird...

2. Hard drive read / write heads have "parked" themselves while hard drive goes into power save mode...
