christmas equals special deals?????

Do computer websites like newegg ,and other sites uselly have sales and discounts on cpu 's and other computer parts during christmas? wasn't sure what forum to post this on so i thought I would put it here.

Such sites usually sell at low margins to begin with, and have specials all year long. They might advertise them as holiday specials certain times of the year, but in reality it doesn't seem to have much effect.

What really gives you some boost in the winter is that new products are released more frequently, putting a lot of older parts on clearence.

Last x-mas I noticed a bit more free shipping, but I can't say whether they offset that with higher prices.
