Chrome ap slowing gaming

I have a strange issue where my chrome tray ap on windows 10 is eating my gaming performance by alot in games around 15 fps in gta5, stays on 44 steady. But when i exit the chrome app the fps go up to normal 55-65 fps.
What is the reason for this why is chrome app so heavy?

Do you ever clean out your history/temp files??
How much memory is chrome using?

If not when you reopen chorme it reopens your tabs AND remembers all of your history and preloads the cahce from all of those websites.
Thus chrome could be using up 2-3 GB of your memory when opened.
