Today i upgraded my PC RAM from 4gb single channel to 8gb dual channel.
And once i tried to launch google chrome it just shows up black, nothing. It doesnt show even the search bar or the minimize or exit button.
I did try to reseat the RAM and reinstall chrome but still the same issue.
I also ran the windows memory diagnostics and it had no problems.
Any idea why that could possibly be and how to fix it ?

Edit: The problem has been solved and it was with my graphics card drivers. Thanks to everyone who tried to help !

Does it work normally when you remove the new RAM?

If you combined it with new RAM, then mixed modules are not guaranteed compatibility, so this could be causing a conflict.
Do you have any problems in any other applications?
Are you installing the RAM as per the motherboard specification?

I havent tried with the old RAM stick

Sounds like a software issue.

Clear the temporary files and see if you can run it.

If not, then re-installing might fix this problem.

Also, download a tool called adwcleaner.
Run it, scan for and remove all the problems.
sadly, removing temp files and installing and running the given tool hasnt helped, but it will probably clear up other issues i had with my computer so thanks for that.
But i havent tried reinstalling chrome after that

Same model or the exact same pack? If they are the same model but from different packs then my original statement applies. Mixed modules are not guaranteed compatibility, so it could be an potential culprit.

RAM is only guaranteed in the form sold (from the same pack) because the manufacturing process changes frequently. So it is irrelevant if they are the same make / model timings. You can have two of the same model, from different packs, that are very different, and therefore conflict.

no, they are from the same pack
So you had 4GB originally, which you've then replaced entirely with a new 8GB?
Have you cleared the CMOS when installing the modules?
Does your system recognise the full 8GB?
Do you have latest BIOS installed?
Are you running any overclock or XMP anywhere?

Do you still have the original 4GB? If so, and the above steps do not help, could you retry the old RAM and see if the issue persists?

i have not cleared CMOS
My system indeed does recognise the full 8GB
And i am not quite sure about the BIOS
And i havent overclocked anything but i have tried launching Gigabyte OC Guru with no succes

Could you lead me to turtorials how to clear CMOS and install latest BIOS and side question, does doing these things i risk losing my files permanently ?

It's easy.

Open up your PC and using a coin remove the coin cell battery and after a minute put it back.

but before that, unplug power from your PC and hold down the power key for 30 sec.

Download latest bios from the manufacturer website.

There is generally no risk of losing data, but it's recommended to take backup.
