Hi, I have an Acer Windows 8.1 tablet that I got for around $200, so it isn't running very good hardware to smoothly run the windows os.I need a more light weight os such as Android or Chrome Os or Chromium os as the only things I need it for are google services ie google play books, docs, inbox, web browsing, YouTube, etc. I find that running a web browser with windows on the tablet is extremely choppy and laggy and most of these services I use is on the web browser.

If anyone can point me into a direction on going about installing a different os, please help. Thanks :)

PS I don't mind if I lose windows

Yea definatly need exact make and model. Most likely the answer is no, but you never know. I know like the Dell Venue 8 Tablet runs either Android or Windows 8 due to the fact its a x86 CPU and its a x86 version of Android vs the normal ARM coded ones for Phones and mobile CPU's.

Truth of the fact is you may find more help and answers here

if your model is listed then there may be home.
