Chrome Won't Launch at all

Google Chrome suddenly stopped opening. I haven't downloaded any new programs that would interfere with it, installed any new firewalls or antivirus, or recently upgraded or updated my software system. When I double click on it, try to open it from my task bar, or run it as an administrator, it won't open. Nothing happens at all. It pops up as a process for about .25 seconds and that is it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Additionally, restarting my computer has no effect on it. Does anyone have any advice for how I can get Chrome to work again? Edge is giving me cancer.

Has Chrome possibly ended up in your anti-virus quarantine. Have seen a similar issue where Sophos had Edge in the quarantine, and it would close within a few seconds of being launched.

If not that, then consider re-installing Chrome.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help and my antivirus appears to have no issue with it

Been facing the same issue. discovered that firefox is pretty good. Did try to uninstall, reinstall. Restarted computer a million times. Ran cleanup tool. Unchecked "use hardware acceleration" in chrome menu. Nothing helped. It works for some time after restarts and uninstall-reinstalls but goes back to not even launching and freezing in some time.

I admittedly don't know jack about computers, but I had this same issue and was finally able to fix it easily (thank you, Google!). I hope this helps someone else. All I had to do was open command prompt as admin and enter netsh win sock reset and then restart computer. I was then able to install Chrome with no issues. Edge gave me cancer as well, so best wishes.
