Okay. Trying to troubleshoot a chromebook that won't charge. I purchased a new battery, and doesn't seem to have fixed the problem unfortunately. No sign of charging with the original battery. Installing the new battery gave me a blinking orange light for a little while. This seems as though it might mean the battery was low, but that because it was blinking, it also means it was not charging. After a short while, the orange blinking stopped as well.

My thought is that the battery sent had a small charge left on it, but the chromebook wasn't charging, even with the new battery. Does that sound accurate?

So what is my next step? Do I spend more money on a new charger? The battery was about $60. Sounds like a new charger is about the same.

It also sounds like I should be able to run the chromebook without a battery? I don't have any luck doing this either. Either with the battery plugged in, or the battery not plugged in. Do I have that right?

Thanks for any support.

If the charger works, then could be the port on the laptop. One thing though, you said the Chromebook did not turn on with or without the battery, have you considered that the thing is dead, maybe motherboard is bad? Of course if the charging port is bad, that means the battery is not charging and there is no power going to the system either to run it without the battery. This is a bit different than just the battery not charging if the system won't even turn on.
