Chromecast connecting pc to TV , lan &wifi possible?

I have a pc directly connected to lan and router directly and on monitor.
I want to connect my TV quite far.away, hdmi isnt an option.

I saw google chrome cast 2 needs to connect on same network .
Will it work on my setup? 1 lan pc + wifi cast

What are you trying to cast? Chromecast isn't great for gaming or anything like that.
