To me, all these things look like is a few plastic bottles, some tubes, and
some microchips with some cartridges.

Why do they cost so much?

Because they are generally excellent quality (cf Permajet) and to get
excellent quality *independent* inks means that you have to have a
research budget the same as Epson do. It may not be as large, but you
still need it. And sometimes you get better results. For example, the
Epson inks for the 2100/2200 don't play well with glossy paper. The
ones from Permajet do.

Remember, you don't just set up an ink company, throw some colours in
a bottle ands sell them.

Would you like a flood all over your table? Or over printer's electronic. Or
some hidden air pockets or locks or that air lakes in?

Well.. try this then

It is not just a piece of "plastic", their system does have very good
flow control where you dont have to worry about the leaking or ink
overflow. That's the cache.

The chipset is different too. their chipset can re-set the ink level
automatically, much better than others.
