This is a weird issue. If the power adapter is plugged into the router, and then i plug it into the wall the router lights just flash, 1-4,wifi, and internet lights. If i unplug the adapter from the wall and the router. First plug the adapter into the wall, then the router it sparks then it powers up. What is causing this? And the power adapter has a humming sound when its plugged in.

Solution
Hmmm. Might just be an issue with the router. This is why electronics can be so hard to fix sometimes because the issue that may be wrong with them will be too costly/time consuming to bother with and most of us just throw it out and buy a new one lol. There are a lot of routers that are in the 30-40 dollar range that is as good as this one.
Well
1) A humming power adapter is usually a failing one
2) when you plug it in the second way does it still flash all of them or does it actually start up?

Try a 30/30/30 reset

With it on use a paper clip or pen and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds then WITHOUT lettings go of the reset button unplug the power to it and keep holding it for 30 seconds while it is unplugged then after that second 30 seconds plug it back in again without letting go of the reset button and hold it for 30 seconds after plugging it back in.

Hmmm odd. Wonder if the initial start up of the power from the first way is somehow causing the router to act up VS plugging in the power adapter, letting it charge up almost, and then plugging it in.

Either way the Humming sound is a big red flag to me.

Thank you, i just wanted to see if it was an issue that could be fixed. I thought it was a router issue before i posted the question. The router has dd-wrt on it. I am using it as a client bridge. But it done this before i ever installed dd-wrt.
