I still think Blue King did a pretty acceptable job given the sheer
scope of the "City of Heroes" Universe and trying to tell a somewhat
engaging story.

For those of us that don't get the comic, care to expound on it? My
curiosity is piqued.

It deals with a lot of Kheldian stuff. Horus it turns out is kheldian
and Requiem (5th column is Nictus).
It's revealed that the Nictus ruled the Kheldians until a revolt.
There's a climactic battle at the end of which Horus and War Witch are
both "dead" and Apex is left alone.

They aren't completely dead, but just spirit entities in a sense - the
kheldian is out of horus and off to awaken other kheldians, and warwitch
is living on the astral plane (where the coven was always shown.)

Even War Witch's firesword has turned to iron (and Apex is carrying it
in the last panel.)

Final panel is Apex walking out and shouting...
"Level fifteen scrapper, looking for a team."

If you do, please use spoiler protection. I just got the comic, but I
can't read it until they send me issue 11, which I never got.

Which was well done, sad, poignant.

As Horus (now the Kheldian Horace) and War Witch are going their separate
ways, Apex naturally wants them to stay saying, "I thought we were a team!"
with all the implications of camiradre and extentended family that go with
that. Apex' final line casts the search for new friends, new extended
family in the form of the generic LFT broadcasts we see every day in the
game.

I wasn't always impressed with the writing, but the guys knew the game and
knew how to end a comic.
