I fully expect to the big tech companies to encourage the regulation of their businesses (a process they'll carefully guide with money and lobbyists and ad buys) in order to exclude their upstart competitors and protect their current dominance.

Then they'll run PR campaigns telling us how great they are for protecting us, their vulnerable customers.

Facebook's customers are not the users as a shepherd's customers are not the sheep. Users and sheep are for fleecing.
