Classic shell, safe?

So windows 8.1 has the start menu, sure. But the actual menu that pops up when you click on the windows thing is just plain lame.

Then I came across classic shell, which seems perfect. It takes the win7 start menu, gives it a windows 8 retexture and then smacks it in.

Two questions

1. Is this allowed/safe to use, Im talking viruses or breaching user agreement with microsoft and stuff

2. If i do install it, what happens to the metro side of the OS?

1 yes--as long as you download it from the official web site

2.metro should still be there--press windows key should take you to the tiles
