My hhd is dead so everything that is on it is probably lost. I've installed an Ssd, I have window7 on a cd, it's asking for a driver and all I have to connect to the Internet is this fracking ipad. Even if I could get the driver to download onto the iPad and to transfer via wifi onto a thumb, Samsung states that it will only work via cd. Is there any solution?

You don't need drivers for the 840 EVO to install windows: it works as a generic SATA drive.

I'm not sure if you are using a laptop or desktop, but you can get any necessary drivers on the manufacuture's cd or from their website.
If you are using a desktop, it may need drivers for an onboard RAID controller or extra SATA interface. You can bypass this by connecting your drive to a native SATA port and/or disabling RAID mode in the bios.

Also, windows install handles drivers just fine on a thumb drive. Download them, extract them onto your drive and browse to them when windows install prompts you.
