I want to make my computer VR only device. I want to remove all old games and reset it for best VR environment. I want to install a new 500 GB ssd drive.
intel 5930k I-7
Asus 1080 strix
850 power supply
1 TB hhd
256 ssd drive
32 GB 2400 ram memory -Gskill

my plan is to put windows 10 on the 256 GB ssd, then all VR games on new 500 GB ssd.
so how do I clean up all the other stuff off of the other drives and start with a clean machine?
my computer cam with windows 8 pro and I did the free upgrade to windows 10 pro but I do not have windows 10 pro disk.

ASsuming the Win 10 was already installed and activated, you are fine. You're just changing hard drives. You have a 'digital entitlement'. All the system info is stored at microsoft, and when it tries to activate, it will contact homebase. "Oh look...it's Trinket's PC. Activate it for him"
1. Create your own Win 10 install media here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

2. Disconnect all drives except for the one you want the OS on

3. Boot from that install thing, and install the OS
When it asks for the license key, select "I don't have one"
Later, when the system is online, it will activate.

4. Install all your drivers and applications.

5. Later, reconnect all the other drives and wipe as needed.

do format the 256 ssd before I install from usb drive? Will windows10 still know that I have permission to operate windows 10 and will it be the pro version? This is scary.
do I need to do a de frag on the ssd after I format?
Can you come over and help me through this? (ha ha just kidding)
