Clean install of windows 7

I'm going to be prepping my PC for a clean install, HDD wipe, etc. And I have my windows 7 key on the side sticker but I have a fear that when I go to input it after the clean install that it won't validate. Is there anyway prior to confirm the key will work to save myself the headache of having to purchase a new key?

Also. Im considering throwing in an additional SSD, and it currently has windows 10 on it. Is it possible that using that drive and OS will be a simplier process of a clean install (did a clean. Install for that PC awhile ago and was super smooth.) Or will there be conflicts with it being in a new Mobo/PC ??

If you are moving a hard drive to a new computer, then you should do a clean install with the new,components.
