Hey guys,

I am ready to give this ugly metal motherboard a 156mph super punch.

I got some bits to get a set up together. Took a hard drive out an old laptop and booted no problem. As the laptop was x32 bit I need to upgrade os to x64 so cannot direct upgrade.

Trying to boot from usb I get stuck at the blue windows logos, no loading ring, I enabled UEFI boot and clicked that option from boot menu this shows the same at the latter but with a white line in the upper left hand corner, this line flashes looks sort of like cmd before you start typing.

I have tried everythinggggg;
● Tried creating the media through both Media Creator and Rufus
● Changing HDD
● Isolating RAM
● Removing all Components
● UEFI Boot
● Tried booting Win 7(same happens) and XP(stays at black loading screen doesn't show click to boot from usb)
● Turning Off Speed Step

My Set-Up:
● Intel Mobo DQ57TM
● Intel i5 650
● 8GB Ram

Unfortunately I don't have a SATA disk drive and the mobo doesnt have ide connectors so I can't try that. I'm pretty sure the fault isn't with the flash drive as I bought it brand new to do this. Thanks for all the help guys I'm at a loss

the fault could be with Windows 10 installer not having the drivers for the motherboard.

its a 10 year old motherboard - https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/42706/intel-q57-express-chipset.html
intel don't have any drivers online for it at all. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/42486/Intel-Desktop-Board-DQ57TM

If intel didn't give MS any win 10 drivers for hardware, its not going to get anywhere.

You might find you need to put win 7 on it first and then upgrade to 10.
could need to use DVD?

Hey man thanks for the reply, so I've tried it also with XP and 7. 7 gets to the end of loading files and restarts, XP gets to the format screen and crashes.

Recovery disks do pretty much the same thing, I've also tried it from an external optical disk drive dvds arent working either.

I did have an old laptop I took the hard drive out of and plugged that in, got that version of Windows 10 to load but as it was only x32 bit wasnt any good trying upgrading directly from the pc and couldn't. Put back in laptop downgraded to 7 x64 put back in the PC and surprise restarts at Windows loading screen.

Quick update:

Flashed the BIOS now Windows 10 install is showing BSOD with error Kernel Security Check Failure.

Win 7 is still restarting after loading files

XP is now moving past format section and copying files so fingers crossed will update shortly
