First off, I'm sorry if this is the wrong category in the forum. I have an Asus GL552VW new laptop. There is an additional SSD that comes with it that needs to be installed. Should I remove the HDD before reinstalling windows 10 on the SSD? And how do I clear the previous system of the HDD?

What I think I should do:

1. Remove HDD from laptop and insert SSD
2. Boot up computer with windows 10 installation USB and install on SSD drive
3. Reinsert HDD and reboot OS via SSD.
4. Delete and reformat HDD drive (I'm not sure how to do this)
5. Reinstall ASUS drivers
6. Update Windows 10

Did I miss out any steps?

My questions:

1. I've read that the HDD will not pop up in the computer system and I think I need to follow this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIjcm2LG33I . Is that correct?

2. How do I reformat and delete everything in the HDD?

3. Is there anything extra that I should download first for Windows 10 that can't be updated via Windows update?

And are there anything that should be noted before reinstalling? I don't want to destroy the totally new laptop. I appreciate all the advice and help I can get. Thanks!

Question 1: The video looks right, you can also get to disk management from the desktop by right clicking This PC and choosing manage. In next window, select disk management from left column and expand the application so you can see middle column.

Question 2 At steps 3 & 4 i would remove ssd, insert hdd and run http://www.dban.org/ on the hdd so its blank and then reinsert ssd and continue on with your steps.

Question 3> Not really :)
