Can anyone shed some light on this, here are some screenshots:
Last time I had this, I saw this And thought I just had to go in to the settings and sort it out via clicking on the Bitlocker under System about/ bitlocker, but that was exactly the wrong thing to do cause that caused my entire pc to become bitlocked encrypted, now however after a perfectly clean reinstall of windows this is what I get, and I wouldn't mind some help or info before I do something wrong again and screw it all up again.

Oh yes that looks like it, so suppose you toggle it to off?

I reckon this to be a great feature, could impair easy reinstallation if one doesn't know this and goes for a clean install without having still unknown how to create decryption key...

I reckon I like decrypted pc, thank you.. now I got to decrypt the on by default encryption just to make progress after every reinstall, rather do it once and save the install and stay problem free!

Wonder how long does it take to do that? encrypt/decrypt.. what if there is a power failure while inprogress? (lots of unnecessary wear and tear on the drives for this seems)

The Bitlocker On\Off Toggle switch menu.

I did a fresh install a few days ago with the iso downloaded straight from the Microsoft website on a brand new drive and didn't get it encrypted, and when I look for bitlocker it says it's off.

But... I flashed the iso with Rufus so I could use it to disable a few things like the online Microsoft account requirement and most importantly, the bitlocker automatic device encryption. If you don't do that you will likely have it encrypted by default, but you can just remove it by going to the control panel, then "bitlocker drive encryption" and disable it. Might take a few minutes to get done with the decryption but after that you will be fine, and flash your installation flash drive with Rufus so you don't have to do that again.

Yes, thanks for the input, I just wished I knew all of this at the start of the year, could have saved my self alot of effort and downloading.

Besides encryption turned off simply decrypts everything that had been encrypted up to that point... issue resolved I call it.
