Cleaning heads on fostex x-18 questions

Can I use the Radio Shack Combination head cleaner /demagnitizer on my Fostex X-18 multitrack?

It's better to scrub the heads with a q tip and isopropyl alcohol.
The automatic cleaner is OK, but does not clean the heads as good.
