More info?)
If you are sure that the print head didn't move over the paper than the
rollers or another part in the printing path is dirty. In that case you
should clean some parts. If you can watch the paper feeding with the lid
opened it's more easy to see were the dirt or ink is coming from. Sometimes
there's a instruction in the manual of the printer that says how and with
what it should be cleaned. Normally they say a damp lint free cloth or a
cotton swab, but some printers and inks need more heavy cleaning and some
tell you to use isopropyl alcohol, but you have to be sure this won't damage
the printer.
If the print head still moves it's a printed line and then it's probably a
software problem. If you are using Linux on your system that what's causing
it. This is what they tell you at Epson: "This problem is caused by a
rendering program of CUPS. Therefore, the problem is not avoidable. We have
confirmed that the problem occurs in 1.1.14 version of CUPS." Updating your
software of changing the driver to a newer or older version may help even if
you're not using Linux. If you've recently installed new software and before
that you didn't have the line printed, the new program could be the cause.
