Hi everyone!

I need to clean my PC, so I bought some antistatic brushes and a bottle of compressed gas. I've used this kind of bottles before, but I've seen that sometimes , a bit of some liquid comes out and stains the system, (it evaporates fast). Is this safe? The idea of something staining my system didn't attract me to be honest.

Thanks for the info.

I use an air blower instead.
Some guys love to use WD-40 to refurbish old PC parts, but I don't personally vouch for it (just my preference).

I do not like can of compressed air because of that very reason. If you hold it at a wrong angle, that liquid will come out.

But in case this happens, it will broke the motherboard components?

Thanks for the help.

As long as you let it dry completely and there's no residue, then it should be ok.

Another issue with can of compressed air is you buy another can once you've used it up.

I've used 5 Star Air Duster several times on various computers to blast out the accumulated dust and never had any problems. Keep can in an upright position when spraying, and spray only in short bursts so if any liquid does come out it will only be a very small amount. It will evaporate immediately and does no harm to components.

Thanks to both, for the next time I'll try to buy an air blower.

Canned air is safe enough.
But, I find that it runs out quickly.
I use an electric duster.
I need to hold it away at some distance because the airflow is so strong.

One key to air cleaning is to not let your fans spin up.
Put a screwdriver or pencil in the fan to keep the blades from spinning while you are cleaning.

Air may not do the whole job since dust can be sticky.
Be prepared to wipe surfaces you can get to.
