Question Clearing SSD cache "performance booster" not always available

hi

So i have a laptop with an Intel SSD 660p, and via the Solidigm Storage Tool Software you can "clear" the cache for improving performance, i usually do that once a week or after a big install or something...

While i have just bought a blazingly fast Samsung SSD 990 Pro for my new Desktop PC and it seems as though there's no way to clear the internal cache via Samsung Magician.

I was wondering...newer drives don't really need to do it manually? Do they do it automatically? or....?

intel ssd 660p cache is slc nand flash
990 pro cache is ram.

Cheers, you mean RAM as in "main RAM"? then no need to clear anything

There is also no need to do it on your 660p.
It happens naturally.
