Hey All,

I've had my Clevo for the past 7 years. I love it.

It has shown it's first major issue this past weekend and I can't diagnose the issue.

Basically, it's black screen disease. Booting into Windows often gets me past the logo before it all goes black with a hint of rainbow at the top. At first, I assumed it was a Windows issue as the OS was operating wonky. I reinstalled. The issue persisted as soon as Windows loaded up display drivers.

Going into safe mode works.
In the connected devices panel, I see "HSD173PUW1" Driver Error. (That's the monitor, yea?)
I can the GPU in the device manager. The GPU is warm after the computer has been on - so it's "there".
Connecting my computer to a TV via HDMI does not work. Have not tried a monitor as I don't have one.

I'm at a loss. Do I need a new graphics card? Can I disable the (d)GPU and run off of the (i)GPU?

Any input or help would rock

Solution
Sounds like a bad video card. You can try replacing it if you can find one cheap enough. You can also try just cleaning out the system, make sure all fans and vents are clean, re-do the heatsink with new thermal paste.
