clicking noises and automatic gpu start up

my laptop which uses a gtx 950m suddenly shows signs of gpu autostart up. like if the laptop is just turned on and nothing is going on I can hear the gpu fans roatating like a game is beign played and then suddenly stopping in between five seconds.. and this continuously goes on n on until I restart.. and also for some reason I can hear clicking type of sounds coming from inside my laptop.. that happens frequently also.....

ps. I tried reinstalling my drivers but no luck

Sounds like the laptop has some cooling issues. Might want to change out thermal paste on both CPU and GPU. To find out how, use Google, im sure there is a youtube video showing how this is done. The clicking may be your hard drive failing.

if my hard drive is failing what could be the reason for it

If it is the hard drive, who knows. Clicking is generally the sound they make before they die.
