Here is the guts of an email I sent to Tim just before Christmas last
year. What do you think of these ideas for improvement of the VGAP4
Client, focused on management really:
Contraband
An interface to trade contraband that would show all my bases, the
contraband the base has and (overall) prices (with the current graph).
This screen could let me buy/sell each contraband per base or set
global buy/sell targets. This would save going to each planet and
having to deal. A history of my contraband trading would be of interest
- how much have I made/lost per base and overall.
The current Minister for Sell All Contraband I have never used as it
doesn't support the granular trading I need. Having some rules I can
set per planet would help too - eg if contraband x increases by 15%
sell all contraband x, else if it increases 8% sell 1000 units, else if
it decreases 10% and I have 10,000mc in the base buy 1000 units - a
rules editor
History
The history for an object. Ships, where have they been, what have they
done. For planets/bases - what has changed over time - eg planet
temperature comes to mind. A global option (or minister option) to turn
history saving on/off for those players who don't care. Each object has
attributes that are unique that changes what the history would be for
that object. Export to Excel/CSV is currently available, but I don't
find it too usable and integrating this information with the actual
object would make it heaps more useful than in a spreadsheet.
Groups/Fleets with Fighters
Groups/Fleets to include fighter wings, or be exclusively made up of
fighter wings. Having hundreds of wings is definitely a challenge to
manage individually
Pod Option
A global option on pods to set them not to Orbit when created as
default. Although I like my pods to orbit, some other players I have
talked to would like their pods to not orbit by default.
