clock icon in the bottom left corner of desktop apps

In the bottom left hand corner of some of the apps on my desktop (Windows 10) there is a little black and white clock icon instead of the shortcut icon. What does that mean? Is there a problem or something? All the apps open fine and run fine as far as I can tell

Are you experiencing this new modified shortcut overlay after a windows update? If so then perform a system restore or rebuild your icon cache.

You can also try a repair install if the above don't work.
