Hello, before i get into this let me start by saying i am not great with computers but i do understand some basic stuff. If needed here are my computer specs / components:
-Asus Gtx 1050 Ti 4gb
-Asus Z170 Gaming Mobo
- 16gb ram (forgot the brand)
- 750w cx-750m power supply
- Corsair h90 ( i believe )
- intel i5 6600k

Okay so the problem happens when im using sony vegas, ive noticed my cpu usage raises very high when i have the app open. Whenever i am editing or rendering the video my processor jumps to 4.69ghz and it seems like sony vegas takes up 50-70% of my cpu power. The CPU usage spikes to 100% when i begin to render then not shortly after i get a BSOD. The BSOD error is the following: " CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT "...

From what ive read online its my processor? The pc is under a year old and has never been used for hardcore gaming or anything of that nature. Just when i begin to use it for what i built it for i run into problems.... is an i5 6600k not enough? am i doing something wrong? im at a loss...

I would then recommend updating your BIOS and installing the latest chipset drivers for your system. If it's hardware related, there is a slim chance there could be an issue with the actual cpu itself... although it would be more likely that the power supply could be acting up.
What type of video files are you working with? resolution/size/compressed/uncompressed? Sounds like what you're doing is putting a lot of stress on the cpu. I had a similar experience with an i7-3770k doing audio production. I'd start loading tracks/plug-in's & noticed the cpu usage starting to get pretty high. I ended up switching over to a Ryzen 7 1700 & now the cpu usage is considerably less. With this type of work, the more cores the better.

Im simply trying to edit and render my 1080p call of duty gameplays and get bsod both when editing and always when rendering
