Hello,

I have a 250GB mSATA on my laptop that the windows 7 is installed on it and I would like to upgrade it to 500GB mSATA. I'd like to see the best method to move the windows 7 (I don't have any personal file) from my old mSATA to my HDD on my laptop and then bring it back to the new mSATA after upgrade it.

Thanks!

Hey there, behrouza.

Basically this should work if each clone is successful, but why use the HDD as "the middle man". If you don't have a second mSATA port, this makes it understandable, but you could also get an mSATA to USB adapter or enclosure and connect the new mSATA drive via a USB, clone the old drive to it and then connect the new mSATA drive instead of the old one, to see if you can boot to Windows properly and if the clone was successful.

You can check out this thread for cloning software suggestions: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1848564/hdd-cloning-software.html

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Well, I really don't see another port and I've checked the specs as well for this model and therr doesn't seem to be an option for a 2nd mSATA drive. But then again it was unlikely as you already have an mSATA drive and and a SATA HDD.

As for your question, yes. This should be sufficient enough in order to connect the drive via one ov your USB ports. :)
