Clone hard Drive

Can someone give me step by step on how to make a bootable hard drive. I have a 700g laptop hard drive i just built my own computer and want to clone all of my laptops hard drive, to the 2TB hard drive i have for my computer. I have tryed a few times to do this but it is never bootable.

The only way you can do it is to install a fresh copy of Windows to the 2TB HDD.

Yup, the laptop will use completely different drivers to the desktop. No way it will boot.

Also, the laptop is probably running OEM Windows, so is tied to that laptop. You need to buy a new copy.
