Clone only one display

I currently have three "displays" in my system, two monitors and a TV.

What I want to do is move my desktop system into another room adjacent to my living room and clone the TV from one of my other monitors, while keeping those two (and possibly 3 in the future) extended, so if I play a movie or any other kind of application from my computer it will be easy to adjust settings without hassle.

I've already tried a software cloning solution, which wouldn't allow me to clone at more than 30 fps, so everything on the cloned monitor appeared sluggish. I tried a trial of UltraMon as well, but didn't see an options to fit my application.

I purchased a DVI splitter, but it degraded the signal on both displays too much for my liking.

I would have thought something would be built into Windows 7, but as far as I can tell, it's a choice of all-clone or no-clone.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm running Windows 7 with dual Nvidia 260s in SLI - any other information can be provided if needed.

You should be able to clone the monitors that are connected to the same graphics card and extend the other(s) through Windows.
Cloning across graphics cards or having multiple monitors clone the same monitor seems to be driver specific. I have not found that option for nVidia but my Matrox card does support this.
