OK,i have a Samsung ssd 128 and a Toshiba 1 tb for extra storage i want to know if i can transfer it to the 1 tb and then back at a later date? and can i keep the same windows? And if so whats the easy way to do it. thanks
I would think it'd be as easy as creating a partition on the hdd that's the same size as the SSD and simply cloning too it but then there's possible boot sector issues. Worth trying since the fix is to just reinstall the ssd if it doesnt boot.
I've never had a reason to do it back and forth like that. But there are some changes that need to be addressed when migrating a HDD to a SSD. So I would assume the reverse would have to take place to go from SSD back to HDD. Here is a tutorial for cloning from SSD to HDD. Maybe it will shed some light on your situation as far as what to undo when going back to HDD.
