Question Cloned drive not showing any documents in User folder

So I cloned a drive and put it on an external drive. I plug that external drive into my new computer, and go to look in the user/documents folder and there are no files listed. I googled around a bit, and saw mention of ownership maybe being the issue, so I go through the steps of changing the ownership properties for that entire Users folder. I click apply, and most things it changes OK, but for some folders it comes up "Failed to Enumerate Objects in the Container". I go ahead and let it finish running and when I look in the documents folder, it's still showing absolutely empty. Is it because of the error I was getting? Or did I do something wrong?

What, specifically, was on the source drive?
Was it a secondary drive, or the OS drive?

More details, please.

You connected this clone to a different system, with its own OS?
Or something else?
I'm sorry, I'm a bit daft when it comes to this stuff. Thank you for your time and patience!

Yes, I connected this cloned drive to a new computer with it's own OS. My line of thinking was this, which is probably wrong but...

I got a new computer. I need all the files from my old computer to go over to the new one, why not go ahead and clone the drive so I have a backup and then can also just drag and drop the files from the old computer to the new one. Makes sense to someone not very tech-wise me, but obviously at this point I'm way over my head in it.

A MUCH better way would have been to simply copy your personal files to some external thing, and then copy into the new PC.
Just the files, not the Libraries they live in.

No ownership issues, and REALLY no issues with the problems you're seeing now.

If the old system still works, that is what I would suggest doing now.

I understand. Thank you again, I will do that.
