Question Cloned files corrupted/disappeared

Hi guys,

I recently used Macrium Reflect to clone one ssd to another in the same PC. I've gone to the new SSD and for some reason most of the document files are corrupted. So I booted back to the source ssd and all of the cloned files have disappeared. I've tried to system restore, but they're not there even when I do that. I've also tried recuva which had some success, but most of the documents I really need won't open.

Odd thing is the original SSD shows the space still allocated on the C drive, so all of the files cloned, including videos and images, must still be stored somewhere - but I can't seem to find where.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

"maybe it was corrupt on the source?" rgd
Maybe rgd has it right. OP, how do you know the source SSD's documents were in readable condition before the cloning? Was the source SSD reporting reading/writing troubles earlier?
And, please tell us you were making routine backups onto external media long before and just before this situation happened.
