i set it as the boot device in the bios but when i plug out the old harddrive it just tells me no boot device is detected. what should i do to fix it? my motherboard is a MSI GD65 Z97 if that helps.
and my os is windows 10. oh and the cloning software i used was Macrium Reflect

thanks guys

Yes, sometimes the cloning thing does not work.

Can you show us a screencap from Disk Management of the system, with both drives installed, and booting from the new drive?

I would suspect that your System Reserved partition (the boot info) did not get cloned over tot he new drive.

Hey there, Bryan!

I'd recommend you to try repeating the cloning process and see if things will get better the second time around. There are a lot of third-party cloning software utilities you can use for this, here are some third-party suggestions from Tom's you can check: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1848564/hdd-cloning-software.html
I'd also suggest you to check the booting priority in BIOS and make sure that your SSD is the primary one. Check Disk Management as it was already suggested, make sure that all the partitions were cloned properly.

Keep us posted & good luck! :)
