I'm trying to clone my 200GB laptop hard drive onto a 500GB hard drive. I successfully cloned the drive after formatting the 500GB HD, but for some reason it won't boot. I get a message saying:
When I put attempt to repair the drive, no drive shows up to repair. I did try formatting the drive last night and doing a clean install of Windows 7 and it worked and booted fine. But when I formatted the drive again and tried to boot from the same HD after cloning my current HD I got the same message I posted above.
The drive is being recognized in BIOS; it just won't boot after being cloned. Any ideas as to what this could be?
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language setting, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have the disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
