I cloned my HDD to a M.2 to use as a sATA drive, unplugged the other drives and booted back up. It works! but in BIOS it doesn't show in boot priority maybe it's just classed as a "generic storage device"?

What specific drives?
What specific motherboard?

When you booted up for the very first time after the clone, were ALL other drives disconnected, including the original OS drive?

Asus H97m-e
WD green HDD 500GB
WD blue M.2 500GB
Optical drive

Unplugged all sATAs booted up fine (but much quicker) restarted in to BIOS only boot option is generic device.
