Question Cloned SSD won’t show in BIOS!

So I wanted to upgrade the capacity of my 256GB m.2 C drive with a 500GB m.2 970 evo plus. Used both Samsung’s clone SW and Macrium Reflect now to clone the original drive. Clone seems to go fine but when I take out the OE and put in the Samsung in its place the computer doesn’t see it. It does see it if I keep it plugged into the USB 3.0 port though. What gives?

what the old 256gb m.2 model?
what your system spec?

The laptop is from 2016. Asus ROG. G751J. Came with the 256gb Samsung model HPU256T. Not super versed but I know the tooth lineup is the same as the new 970.
