First of all... Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Now onward to the issue...
I am trying to clone my current HDD (250 GB) to a new SSD (2 TB), remove the HDD, and operate on the SSD alone. After cloning with Macrium Reflect Free, I can browse the SSD via File Explorer. Next, I power down the computer, disconnect the HDD, leave only the SSD connected, and power up my computer. I get a message saying no hard drive is detected. If I go into a diagnostic page and look at the SATA connection, nothing is listed.
Power down, reconnect the HDD and SSD, power back up... and the computer boots off of the HDD and I can see the SSD via File Explorer and Computer Management.
I have tried repairing the start-up process via a Windows Recover CD, I tried via the command prompt using the bootrec.exe commands.
I am at a loss. Below are some specs for troubleshooting. Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.
