Hi.
I used a 150gb Raptor drive and upgraded to an OCZ vertex 460 SSD. The SSD is 240GB. I downloaded and ran the limited functionality Acronis 2013 (code provided by OCZ). It cloned marvelously and the SSD is running like a champ. Knowing 100% that the SSD was working perfecly, I decided to disconnect it and boot with the Raptor.... just to make sure. It booted and operated flawlessly.
Since I used less than the 150gb of space, I figured I would keep the Raptor drive and clone my SSD onto the Raptor once a week or so as backup. That way I could have a rather current easy, plug and play solution. Unfortunately, that isn't working. After using the SSD for a week, I cloned the SSD onto the Raptor. The Raptor boots Windows but only partially. It gets stuck. The desktop shortcuts are partially loaded and no programs can be launched as the machine remains unresponsive. This is with the Raptor as the only connected drive in the box.
I connected both drives and selected the SSD as boot up. It booted perfectly and I could access the Raptor. I saw all the new files and data had been cloned onto the Raptor so it appears it is being written to. For some reason, it will not boot properly. I tried cloning multiple times with all different options selected in the software. No go.
Any advice appreciated.
