I have an i3 and a b75 msi mitx motherboard.
I have just installed Win 10 Pro x64 on a Samsung 840 Pro 512 GB.

Will upgrade soon to i7 4790k and the Asus Impact Z97, and was wondering if i can get away with it and not to install everything all over again.

My questions:

1. If i take the 840 Pro and put it on the new system with the Windows installed (from the old system) will it boot correctly or i have to do a "repair windows task"?

If 1 is ok, then i will install a Samsung M.2 950 Pro 512 GB.

Thus:

2. Can i use the data migration software from Samsung to clone from the Sata SSD 840 Pro to the M.2 950 Pro and make the M.2 the new bootable main storage ?

Any problems/ extra setting from the bios ?

Any input is of great help. Thank you.

Changing motherboards will cause your system to become deactivated. You'll have to reinstall.

I had to do this a couple months ago after upgrading the motherboard and I couldn't get away with anything other than reinstalling.

Even then, after changing motherboards it's usually recommended you reinstall Windows since you can start fresh and don't have old drivers lingering around to cause instability.
