Hi, im trying to upgrade my M.2 SSD from 512 gb to 1tb from my lapop. I do not own an m2 enclosure but i do own a another pc (desktop pc) with 2 ssd slots. Can I take the ssd from my laptop and the new ssd, install them both on the other pc (desktop pc) and do the cloning over there?

Yes, anywhere but not if it's a BOOT/system disk. Because if you BOOT with it, windows are going try to modify it to suit that other system. Once you put new copy of it it may not work in old one any more.
Alternative could be to make and use some live Linux distro on a USB stick, boot with it on that other system and clone from it. Most distros come with tools to do that.
