I have been trying to put an SSD into my partners Sony Vaio SVT1312B4e. I can clone the disk ok but when I try to boot from it It fails, As far as I can see it doesnt read the disk OK as it is expecting it to be configured differently as Intel Rapid Storage Technology is running. I could just do a fresh windows install but I would prefer to keep what I can.
Thanks

Solution
try disabling Intel RST in the Vaio BIOS. this could allow the drive to be accessed but may somewhat limit it's performance.

or you can just copy any needed offline or personal data stored on the OG drive, format the SSD & run the fresh OS install, then restore the data back later.
